Changelog

What is new and what got better in Nevquo Pixel, newest first.

Version 1.4.0 Latest Scan any page for heavy images

  • NewA website image analyzer: paste a page address and see each image's format, size and pixels with an estimated saving, then jump to the tool that shrinks it.
  • NewThe analyzer is the one page that sends something away: the address you type. Your own images are still never uploaded. The privacy statement says so.
  • ImprovedThe proof page and the About page now describe that one exception.

Version 1.3.0 Check our privacy claim yourself

  • NewA page that walks you through checking, in your own browser, that nothing is uploaded, including a test with the internet switched off. Open it.
  • NewPublished benchmarks: measured savings by image type, quality mode and format, with the test images and results to download so you can repeat them.
  • NewAbout and Contact pages, and a clearer footer on every page.
  • ImprovedThe legal page now matches the rest of the site.

Version 1.2.1 Easier to find and use

  • NewAn "All tools" menu on every page, grouped as Compress, Convert and Edit and clean.
  • NewTool cards on the home page are grouped and carry an icon and a short format label.
  • ImprovedOptions on each tool now sit in their own panel, with a one-line explanation of the choice you picked.
  • NewSize and pixel boxes check what you type and tell you when they changed it, for example "The minimum is 5 KB. Set to 5."
  • NewIf you change an option after adding files, a "Run again" button applies it.
  • FixedSettings no longer jumps back to the top when you click an option.
  • FixedThe Done button is readable on hover in light and dark mode.

Version 1.2.0 A tool for every job

  • NewTwelve dedicated tools, each with its own guide and a real before and after: Compress PNG, Compress JPEG, Convert to WebP, Convert to AVIF, HEIC to JPG, WebP to JPG or PNG, Compress to a size in KB, Resize an image, Remove location data, Optimize SVG, Compress a whole folder, and BMP and TIFF to JPG or PNG.
  • NewEach tool remembers its own settings, so changing options in one never alters another.
  • NewA note on a file when your size limit could not be reached.
  • FixedSome HEIC photos failed to open. They open now.
  • FixedA size limit was ignored when a lossless result was the smallest. It is now respected.
  • FixedConverting with Lossless quality (for example WebP to PNG) no longer keeps the original when the new file would be bigger.

Version 1.1.3 Faster, and works offline

  • ImprovedOptimizing is roughly two to three times quicker. A new Speed setting (Fast or Smallest) lets you trade time for smaller files.
  • NewAfter your first visit the app works without an internet connection. Rarely used formats may need one online use first.
  • NewA preview card appears when you share a link to the site.
  • FixedThe settings panel on phones was narrower than the screen and looked off-centre.

Versions 1.1.0 to 1.1.2 The core app

  • NewOptimizes JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, HEIC, TIFF, BMP and SVG in your browser, with a visual quality check, automatic choice of the smallest format, before-and-after comparison, removal of hidden GPS and camera data, and ZIP download.
  • NewUpdates itself, installs like an app, copies your settings to another device with a link, and can optimize every new image in a folder (Chrome and Edge on a computer).
  • NewPrivacy statement, terms and open-source notices.
  • FixedIf the image engine stops on a very large image, the app now retries once in a lighter mode. Folder picking is more reliable and explains problems in plain words.
